The police have registered a First Information Report against the 3 men arrested for the murder of gangster Atiq Ahmed and his brother on April 15.
The FIR states that the attackers had posed as journalists and were carrying fake media cards, dummy mics and camera, according to India Today. The news outlet also reported that one of the attackers got shot in his accomplices cross-firing.
An India Today report also states that the shooters had stayed at a Prayagraj hotel for 2 days before the murder. It added that Zigana-made pistols, which are illegal and banned in India, were used for the attack.
