Assam's Major Drug Bust: Heroin Seized

Guwahati, May 27: A significant breakthrough was achieved in Assam's Cachar district with the arrest of an individual following the discovery of a firearm and heroin valued at Rs 3.5 crore. The operation was spearheaded by a collaborative effort between the state police, Assam Rifles, and the Assam Rifles Field Intelligence Unit (ARFIU), as announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday.

The Chief Minister shared the news on the platform X, highlighting the success of the anti-narcotics operation conducted in alliance with @cacharpolice, ARFIU, and Assam Rifles. 648 grams of heroin, alongside a pistol, were confiscated during the raid.

In this significant crackdown on drug trafficking, one peddler has been apprehended, as confirmed by Chief Minister Sarma.
