Jorhat (Assam), Oct 3 (PTI): Suspected miscreants from Nagaland allegedly set several houses on fire in Golaghat district of Assam early on Friday, according to a senior official. The incident occurred in Tengatal of Uriamghat, Sector B in Sarupathar, along the interstate boundary. "Villagers were asleep when suspected miscreants from Nagaland crossed the border and ignited numerous houses, causing significant property loss," the official stated. No injuries or fatalities have been reported from the blaze. The cause behind the incident remains unknown. Authorities from the civil administration, police, forest department, and CRPF rushed to the scene. Although the situation is under control, tensions persist," he mentioned.
