Amaravati, August 8 (PTI): Andhra Pradesh Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar has issued a stern warning regarding the violation of food quality standards in hotels, food courts, and other food and beverage establishments.
Manohar pointed out that there are allegations of harmful substances being mixed in some hotel foods, leading to health problems. He advised people to be vigilant when consuming food outside their homes.
"Strict action will be taken against establishments that do not adhere to quality standards in food preparation," stated Manohar in an official press release.
The minister emphasized that a cabinet subcommittee had reviewed the issue and instructed officials to initiate necessary actions.
He assured that prompt action would ensue against any establishments found non-compliant during inspections.
Highlighting a recent inspection in Visakhapatnam, Manohar revealed that 44 out of 51 restaurants were found breaching norms. Multiple deficiencies were noted, and the authorities have compiled substantial evidence to initiate immediate legal proceedings.
