Another student preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination aspirant died by suicide in Rajasthan's Kota on March 8, making it the sixth such incident in the city.

Abhishek Kumar, a native of Bihar's Bhagalpur district, was found dead in his rented room in the Vigyan Nagar area.

Police said that Abhishek consumed poison and left behind a suicide note addressed to his father.

In the note, he said he was sorry as he could not prepare for the JEE.

"Sorry papa, I cannot do JEE...," the suicide note read, according to the police, reports India Today.

Police said that a postmortem exam would be conducted, following which the body would be handed over to his family.

In 2023, 26 suicide cases have been registered in Kota, triggering concerns from local authorities to address the mental health challenges faced by students in the high-pressure academic environment prevailing in coaching centres.
