Another Indian cough syrup in trouble? WHO warning on Guaifenesin TG

The World Health Organisation has once again raised an alarm over allegedly contaminated cough syrups made in India being found in other countries.

The WHO on April 25, 2023, said that a batch of substandard Guaifenesin Syrup TG Syrup was found in the Marshall Islands and the Federated States of Micronesia.

WHO said that the cough syrup had unacceptable amounts of diethylene glycol and ethylene glycol as contaminants.

The manufacturer is QP Pharmachem Limited of Punjab, and the marketer is Trillium Pharma of Haryana, as per WHO.
