Following reports on July 25 that Indian woman Anju had married her Facebook friend Nasrullah in Pakistan after converting to Islam, her father reacted to the developments.

Anju, a mother of two, told her Indian husband on July 20 that she was travelling to Jaipur, but went to Pakistan instead.

Gaya Prasad said, "For me, the day she left India, she stopped being our daughter. I'm feeling ashamed while talking about this."

"I never even dreamed that my daughter would do something like this. It's not just about us. It's about the entire country," he added.
