Hyderabad, Aug 27 (PTI) An Additional Superintendent of Police from Andhra Pradesh, who sustained injuries in a road accident near Hyderabad last month, passed away on Wednesday while receiving treatment at a city hospital, police officials have reported.

The tragic incident occurred on July 26 when two Deputy Superintendents of Police from Andhra Pradesh were killed, and two others, including Additional SP K D M V R Prasad (aged 56) and a head constable, were injured in a car accident at Choutuppal near Hyderabad.

The injured individuals were admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad for treatment. The head constable was later discharged, according to an official from the police department.

The police officers were traveling from Vijayawada to Hyderabad for official duties. The accident took place when the car in which they were traveling hit a road divider. The driver was attempting to avoid a collision with a vehicle in front after its driver applied sudden brakes.

After striking the divider, the car crossed over to the opposite lane and was subsequently hit by another vehicle approaching from the other direction.
