Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Friday expressed his prayers for actor Saif Ali Khan's recovery and called on the government to ensure the safety of all artistes.
In a Hindi post on X, Yadav stated, "Praying for the speedy recovery of popular film star Saif Ali Khan. I urge the government to ensure the safety of all artistes."
The incident occurred on Wednesday night when a knife-wielding assailant entered Khan's Bandra residence on the 12th floor of the Satguru Sharan building in Mumbai and attacked the 54-year-old actor multiple times, leaving him injured.
The attack has sparked concerns about the security provided to celebrities. Doctors at Lilavati Hospital confirmed that Khan, who underwent emergency surgery, is now "out of danger." Meanwhile, Mumbai Police continue their investigation and search for the attacker.
Khan, a National Film Award-winning actor, previously performed at the Saifai Mahotsav in 2016 during Yadav's tenure as Uttar Pradesh's chief minister.
