Amid UP slap video, J&K teacher booked for brutally thrashing student in school

Amid the outrage over the UP slap video, a report about a Jammu and Kashmir teacher thrashing a student at a government higher secondary school has emerged. 

According to India today, the student was thrashed so brutally that he had to be admitted to the hospital, adding that the student was beaten because he allegedly wrote Jai Shri Ram on a blackboard in the classroom.

After the incident came to light, an FIR was filed against the school principal and the teacher. 

Meanwhile, a three-member committee has been formed to inquire into this incident.
