Rahul Gandhi has said that international news reports on the Adani Group's transactions raises serious questions on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urged him to clear his name.

'The question of course is why is this one gentleman who is close to the prime minister of India being allowed to move a billion dollars to pump up his share price, to use that money to capture Indian assets, airports, ports. Why is there no investigation?' Gandhi questioned.

He also asked why Modi was silent on the matter and not ordering an investigation.

'It is very important that the Prime Minister of India Mr Narendra Modi clear his name and categorically explain what is going on. I don't understand why the PM is not forcing an investigation. Why is he quiet? Why doesn't he say that he is going to make sure that this issue is investigated? This is a very serious question on the prime minister,' the Congress leader.
