Washim, July 4 (PTI) - A tragic accident on the Samruddhi Expressway in Maharashtra's Washim district has resulted in the death of four individuals, including two women, according to a police official's statement on Friday.
The unfortunate incident took place around 8 pm on Thursday, between the areas of Wanoja and Karanja on the high-speed carriageway.
Five family members from Umred in the Nagpur district were on their way back home after attending a function in Pune. At channel number 215, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash into the divider, as reported by an official from the Mangrulpir police station.
Among the car's passengers, Madhuri Jaiswal and Vaidehi Jaiswal tragically died at the scene, while Sangeeta and Radheshyam Jaiswal succumbed to their injuries in a hospital.
The car's driver is currently hospitalized in Washim, receiving treatment for his injuries.
