26 girls go missing from illegal shelter home in Bhopal, NCPCR seeks action

At least 26 girls from various states, including Gujarat, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, have gone missing from a shelter home being run illegally in Bhopal.

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights chairman Priyank Kanungo has written to the state's Chief Secretary seeking action in the matter and a report on it within seven days.

A case has been registered naming the manager of the children's home, Anil Methew, as an accused.

Former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has also sought immediate action in the matter.
