India on Saturday lodged a strong protest over drone activities by Pakistan in the Jammu area during a sector commander-level meeting between the Border Security Force and the Pakistan Rangers, officials said.

There has been a spike in drone sighting and activities in the Jammu region raising security concerns for India. Drones were used on June 27 to drop explosives at the Indian Air Force station in Jammu airport, causing minor injuries to its two personnel.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday shot down a drone carrying improvised explosive device material weighing five kilograms in the border belt of Jammu district.
