India recorded 38,949 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, a slight decrease from Thursday's 41,806 according to the health ministry dashboard on Friday morning. With this, the country’s total caseload rose to 3.10 crores.
Daily Covid deaths have also declined further with 542 fatalities reported in the same period. Total deaths due to Covid now stands at 4,12,531.

The active cases in the country presently stand at 4,30,422 and constitute 1.39% of the caseload. The recovery rate has increased to 97.28%.
The daily positivity rate has been less than 3% for 25 straight days and stands at 1.99% on Friday morning, while the weekly positivity rate remains below 5%.
Further, over 39.53 crore vaccine doses have been administered since the nationwide vaccination drive began earlier this year.
