With a single-day rise of 41,649 cases, India's Covid-19 tally climbed to nearly 3.16 crore on Saturday.
With 593 fatalities the death toll due to the viral disease shot up to over 4.23 lakh, the Union health ministry said.
The number of active coronavirus cases rose to 4,08,920 in the said time period while the national Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 97.37% the govt data showed.
The number of active coronavirus cases in the country registered an increase for the fourth consecutive day, according to the health ministry.
The ministry also informed that over 46.15 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered so far.
