India reported 40,120 new cases of Covid-19 on Friday morning, 2.6% lower than the previous day, according to the Union Health Ministry. The death toll surpassed 4.30 lakh with 585 fresh fatalities.
The number of active cases declined to 3,85,227 and now consists 1.20% per cent of the total caseload, the lowest since March 2020 while 42,295 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours.
India also achieved its highest recovery rate at 97.46 per cent while the daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.04 per cent.
The govt also informed that 52.95 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive.
