In a big move to make India energy independent PM Modi announced the launch of National Green Hydrogen mission. PM Modi said India has to become a hub for production and export of Green Hydrogen in a bid to ensure India becomes aatmanirbhar in energy production too.

Addressing the nation from Red Fort as India celebrates it's 75th Independence day, PM Modi reminded that green energy is the focus and that Green Hydrogen is the future of the world.

In fact reports indicate that the govt will instruct oil refineries and fertiliser plants to use green hydrogen as the first stage of plans to secure a world-leading market scale for the key energy transition fuel.

India is pursuing some of the world’s most ambitious renewable energy targets of 175GW by the end of next year and 450GW by the end of the decade.
