The indemnity roadblock set to be removed paving the way for Pfizer, Moderna vaccines to be imported into India. Reports indicate that the govt is gearing to grant indemnity from legal liability to the pharma giants.

Pfizer who has stated that they have 5 crore doses ready to be imported into India had demanded an indemnity clause to finalise the deal. Such a clause absolves the pharma major from any legal liability in case of any adverse effects. Cipla also had approached the govt seeking the same for Moderna as the company is looking to import 50 million doses of the vaccine as they become available.
