If dowry is a crime, why not #TripleTalaq?: Ravi Shankar Prasad

In his concluding arguments in the Lok Sabha on the triple talaq bill, Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad asked if the dowry law can be passed, why not Triple Talaq Bill? He added if triple talaq is wrong in Islam, how can it be considered right in the Indian law? "In the dowry law, the non-bailable offence invites 5 years jail term, irrespective of the religion. No one raised an objection to that law. Why raise questions about triple talaq?. Supreme Court judgment said that triple talaq is termed as wrong in Islam, then how can it be considered right in the Indian law?", he asked
