Ice bucket challenge inspiration Pete Frates dies at 34

Pete Frates, a former college baseball player and the inspiration behind the famous ALS Ice Bucket Challenge passed away at the age of 34. The challenge was inspired by his battle with Lou Gehrig's disease and helped raise over $200 million across the world. For the challenge, you had to dump a bucket of ice water over your head , post a video on social media and challenge others to do the same and make a donation to charity. ALS has no known cure and is a progressive neurodegenerative disease. Frates passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.
