Known for delivering hit films like 'Aligarh, 'Omerta', 'Shahid' among many others, filmmaker Hansal Mehta finally opened up on controversies surrounding his 2017 film Simran that featured Kangana Ranaut in the lead.

Calling the film a painful memory, Hansal said he sometimes wishes that he had never made it as it makes him sad. Hansal added that after the film was released he even went to therapy as the film affected his mental health.

Talking about his association with Kangana and how he lost a lot of money, the director said he had a good time with her off the sets but on the sets, it went out of his control as she took complete control and began instructing other actors.
