Huawei has launched the second version of its own operating system and has detailed plans to push it to third-party makers as an alternative to Google’s Android. The company announced at its developer conference that a beta version of the HarmonyOS 2.0 will be open to developers for devices like smartwatches, TVs and in-car head units from September 10 and for smartphones in December. The first phone with the in-house operating system will launch as early as next year.
