The latest National Family Health Survey -5 reveals that undernutrition levels have risen amongst children in many states. Maternal and child malnutrition caused 68% of deaths of children under five years. Therefore, the National Nutrition Mission has set the target to reduce undernutrition by at least 2% per year. But a new Harvard study has found out where exactly India's nutrition programmes are failing and why? It says to accurately understand this and how to efficiently target the crisis of malnutrition among children, it is necessary to collect and use village-level data.
