Himalayan glaciers are melting at an alarming rate, almost double since 2000. Researchers from Columbia University looked at photos taken by a US spy satellite. The study reflects a 'devastating future' for the region, on which majority of the people depend for regular water supply. 8 billion tonnes of ice is lost annually and it is not being replaced by snow. According to the study, 'human-caused' climate change is responsible for these grave effects.
