Scientists from UCLA and Cambridge University have developed a technology that could make it easier to see inside a baby's brain during its natural activity.

The device looks like a swimming cap and produces images similar to an MRI scan but using a light, wearable cap.

Studying the brain activity of an infant is currently difficult with existing technologies like MRI because the baby either has to be asleep or sedated.

This new technology helps overcome these difficulties and gives new insights into the functioning of an infant's brain.
