Millions of people in Zimbabwe are facing severe hunger due to the prolonged drought and economic crisis, according to the World Food Programme. Nearly 8 million Zimbabweans - half the country's population, are finding it difficult to get enough food and almost 4.1 million people are relying on food aid. Poor rainfall and soaring inflation have worsened Zimbabwe's most severe economic crisis in a decade. The domestic production of cereals can currently satisfy only 50% of the national demand in Zimbabwe, states the WFP.
