India born astronaut Sirisha Bandla is set to fly into space with Richard Space on July 11. And her grandfather in Andhra Pradesh is on cloud nine.
"I, along with my friends and relatives, wish her a successful and happy return to the land after completion of her journey," Dr Ragaiah told ANI on Sunday in Andhra Pradesh's Guntur district.
Calling her brave and strong in decision making, he added that Bandla was very fascinated with the sky from the very begining.
Sirisha Bandla will be one of the six space travellers aboard VSS Unity of Virgin Galactic.
Born in Andhra's Guntur and raised in Texas, Bandla will become the second India-born woman to fly into space after Kalpana Chawla.
