Govt tightens e-commerce norms; Flipkart, Amazon hit

In a setback to e-commerce giants like Flipkart and Amazon, the govt has tightened rules for e-commerce companies, preventing them from selling products of businesses in which they have a stake. The commerce and industry ministry also prohibited e-commerce companies from entering into exclusive deals for products. Several companies, especially mobile phone makers, prefer selling their products exclusively on a particular e-commerce platform.
