Govt-RBI rift: Major announcement today?

The rift between the RBI and the govt may take a turn for worse today. A day after the finance minister directly blamed the RBI for NPAs mess during UPA 2, sources say that the government may invoke Section 7 of the RBI act to give 'unprecedented directions' to the Central Bank. According to sources, RBI Governor Urjit Patel may also make a major announcement today aggravating the crisis. His term ends in September next year.
