The Alphabet Inc. unit is pledging to spend $7 billion into opening new offices and expanding data centers across the United States in 2021. This is lower than the $10 billion it had originally earmarked pre-pandemic for the current year.
The Mountain View, California-based company is looking to create at least 10,000 new full-time jobs in the U.S. this year.
Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai said Thursday that the company "wants to be a part” of the country’s economic recovery and they would invest in communities that are new to Google — expanding across 19 states.
