Google removed 1.54 lakh articles in last two months after over 71,000 complaints

Google has removed more than 1.54 lakh pieces of content after receiving 71,148 complaints from individual users in India in May and June collectively, according ot the latest transparency reports released by it on Friday.

In June, 83,613 pieces of content were removed following 36,265 complaints from users in India. Google said it had received 34,883 complaints in May from individual users in India and the number of removal actions as a result was 71,132. 

The content removal was done under several categories, including copyright, trademark, counterfeit, other legal, circumvention and graphic sexual content.
