Google is postponing the enforcement of its new Play Store billing policy in India to April 2022 in the wake of mounting protests by Indian developers. Google says this will allow developers who use alternative payment systems enough time to integrate with the Play Store billing system. The tech giant’s plan to enforce a 30 per cent commission on in-app purchases of digital goods from its Play Store, however, will go live globally as planned in September 2021.
