The 10th of March marks the birth anniversary of renowned Indian professor and scientist Udupi Ramachandra Rao, who was an Indian space scientist and chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation.

Google is celebrating his 89th birthday with a doodle.

In 1975 Professor Rao supervised the launch of India's first satellite, "Aryabhata".

Professor Rao was also lovingly called 'India's Satellite Man' by many.

The doodle shows him against the background of shooting stars and the Earth.
