Gold demand in India dropped by 30% year-on-year to 86.6 tonnes in the September quarter due to Covid-19 related disruptions and ruling high prices, World Gold Council said in a report.

This is, however, higher than Q2, when demand was 70% lower at 64 tonnes.

Meanwhile, the total jewellery demand in India decreased by 48% but total investment demand during the quarter surged by 52%.
