Sirajuddin Haqqani, a designated global terrorist, is Afghanistan's new interior minister.

A leader of the terror syndicate, the Haqqani network, he one of the FBI's most wanted terrorists.

In fact, the US State Department continues to offer a reward of $5 million for information leading to his arrest.

The son of anti-Soviet mujahideen commander Jalaluddin Haqqani, Sirajuddin is wanted by the FBI in connection with the January 2008 attack on a hotel in Kabul that killed six people.

Sirajuddin Haqqani is also believed to have been involved in the planning of an assassination attempt on the then Afghan president Hamid Karzai in 2008.

Haqqani is allegedly involved in a number of suicide attacks and has close ties with Al Qaeda.
