A Glasgow-based artist, Katrina Cobain, has launched a one-of-its-kind virtual Plastic Bag Museum to raise awareness.
Cobain began hoarding plastic bags almost two years ago as she felt they reveal a lot about social history, civilisation, consumption and changes in design over time.
Her aim is to show that these bags are objects that belong in the past, considering how damaging they are for the environment.
Her collection now boasts of bags from rare, historic events in Europe including those from Prince Charles and Princess Diana's wedding, from the Soviet Union, a few from New York and those commemorating the year 2000. Her original plan was to open a physical exhibition but the coronavirus pandemic dampened that.
