Owing to climate change, glacial lakes across the world, have grown by almost 50 percent since 1990, according to a new study published in the journal Nature Climate Change.
Satellite images showed how retreating glaciers have led to an increase in the number of glacial lakes.
While these lakes are a great source of freshwater for several people across the globe, they also pose a threat of major flooding which threaten to wipe out certain communities.
