French striker Olivier Giroud has completed his move from Chelsea to AC Milan, the Italian club announced on Saturday. The 34-year-old will be wearing the No. 9 jersey, the club said. However, they did not reveal the duration for which Giroud had joined the Serie A club.

Giroud, who was keen to join the Italian club, had earlier turned down a 12-month contract extension offered by the English club in June.

Giroud also thanked his fans and teammates in a post on Twitter.

To all the blues, to all my team mates, to all my coaches to the whole club, a huge thank you for the special moments, he wrote.
