Italian-born French fashion designer Pierre Cardin has died at the age of 98, France’s Fine Arts Academy shared in a statement on Twitter.
The designer was best-known for futuristic clothing that defined fashion in the 1960s and 1970s. More than just a creative genius, Cardin revolutionised the fashion industry by bringing high-fashion to the masses in a time where French haute couture was an extremely exclusive business.
From Rita Hayworth to The Beatles, the space-age fashion king's client list was nothing short of extraordinary.
