Virgil van Dijk signed a new long-term contract extension with Liverpool on Friday, committing himself to Jurgen Klopp's side until 2025.

The 30-year-old is the latest Liverpool player to sign a new deal after Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho and Alisson all agreed new contracts in recent weeks. Van Dijk has been out since last September with a serious knee injury and has only recently returned in pre-season friendlies. The influential defender is looking to start his first match since October when Liverpool visit Norwich in the EPL.

The Netherlands captain joined the Anfield club in December 2017 for a then £75million record fee for a defender.
