Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman will chair the GST council meet today with State finance ministers. The meet is expected to be a stormy one over Centre-State rift over dues. The Centre and Opposition rules states are not just divided over compensation for a shortfall in collections due to Covid, but also on the issue of a dispute resolution authority being pushed by the Opposition-ruled states.
