Twenty years and 2 trillion dollars that’s what the war in Afghanistan has cost the United States. That is 100 times the GDP of Afghanistan which stands at $19 billion. In fact, the war bill is more than the GDP of Canada, France, Italy, and even the entire continent of Australia.
Even if you look at the billionaire bunch and took all the money between Bezos and Musk, even added a little fashion fund from LVMH chief then throw in the tech giants of Mark Zuckerberg and Bill gates, splurge with all the old school finances from Warren Buffet glam up the quotient with Loreal chief and pile on the wealth of Asia's richest man Mukesh Ambani and also China’s richest man even then one would be short by a full trillion dollars to finance the 'war on terror'.
But the pain of payment doesn’t end here. The war has just cost the White House Political capital up to now, the real hit is due in 30 years as it has been financed through loans.
True to the credit economy of America. The war finance motto has been 'Fight Now Pay Later'. The bill which will come later will truly haunt Uncle Sam that will have to cough up not $2 trillion but $6.5 trillion dollars when the creditors come knocking.
