An architect of the women's rights movement, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died of complications of pancreatic cancer at the age of 87 on Saturday. Ginsburg had been undergoing chemotherapy for lesions on her liver since July 2019.
Ginsburg, a feminist icon, was appointed to the Supreme Court by former President Bill Clinton in 1993. She was the second female ever appointed to the role and one of only 4 other women.
