Fed Chief warns against cryptocurrencies

In a big blow to blockchain enthusiasts Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said cryptocurrencies are primarily “a speculative asset” and the US central bank was in no rush to introduce a digital currency. 

Backing the greenback as the only stable form of currency Fed Chief said It’s (Bitcoin) is more a speculative asset that’s essentially a substitute for gold rather than for the dollar.”
