A rare, 14.83 carat 'Vivid Purple-Pink diamond' discovered in Russia is going under the hammer at a Sotheby's auction.

Dubbed 'Spirit of the Rose', it is the largest one of its kind ever to appear at an auction and has been named after a popular Russian ballet.

Mined in 2017 by Alrosa, a leading diamond producer, it will be auctioned off in Geneva on the 11th of November. The rare gem is expected to fetch anywhere between $23-38 million.
