'Extremely dangerous' Hurricane Laura makes landfall

After picking speed and strengthening into an 'extremely dangerous', Hurricane Laura made landfall in United States' Louisiana on Thursday morning. Experts warned authorities that the hurricane will cause catastrophic impacts with wind speed going up to 240km per hour.

The hurricane is feared to shift to Category 5 from Category 4 and could possibly rip apart buildings, level trees and toss vehicles like toys.

Texas and Louisana evacuated more than 6 lakh people as the hurricane is expected to cause life threatening damage.
