The name of late Jayalalithaa's former confidante VK Sasikala has been 'removed' from the voters list. Her counsel said that it is an 'injustice and that Sasikala was sad about it. She has threatened legal action against the official responsible. Reports said that Sasikala's name was deleted on 31 January 2019, following revision of the voters' list ahead of the Lok Sabha polls that year. Sasikala was listed as a voter in the Thousand Lights Assembly constituency in Chennai as she lived at Jaya's Poes Garden house. It was taken over by the govt after the former CM's death to be converted into a memorial. Poll officials have said that it was Sasikala's own responsibility to ensure that her name was added.
