The Czech Republic produced one of the biggest upset of the tournament as they punched above their weight to beat the Netherlands 2-0 in the round of 16 at Euro 2020. After a balanced opening half, the plans went out of the window for the Dutch when Matthijs de Ligt was shown the red card. 10-men Netherlands then found it incredibly tough to contain the Czech Republic as they scored twice in the 2nd half. Tomas Holes and Patrik Schick scored in a space of 12 mins to ensure that the Czechs completed a 2-0 win and book a quarterfinal berth against Denmark. This is for the 1st time since 2012 that the Czech Republic has reached the quarterfinals of the European Championships.
