The only team to have successfully defended the Euro title, Spain will head into this year's edition riding on some good form.
After a disastrous 2018 World Cup, Luis Enrique took over the team. The former treble-winning Barcelona boss has created a team based on youth and exuberant talent, having handed out debuts to the likes of Barcelona sensations Ansua Fati and Pedri, Leipzig forward Dani Olmo and Manchester City duo of Eric Garcia and Ferran Torres.
With Sergio Ramos missing out due to injury, Sergio Busquets is likely to lead the team. Making his debut in 2009, he was one of the key players in Spain's 2012 Euro triumph.
Apart from him, Gerard Moreno will be the one to watch out for. He has netted 5 goals in his ten appearances for La Roja and is already a focal point in Luis Enrique’s side.
Spain has won the tournament thrice in 1964, 2008 and 2012 and also ended up as runners-up in 1984. They have reached the knockouts 6 times.
Spain, placed in Group E along with Sweden, Poland and Slovakia, Enrique will really have to marshall his young troops well from day 1 in order to have a successful campaign.
